The ferry journey leaves Salcombe (at Whitestrand Pontoon) and arrives in East Portlemouth (landing at the beach near East Portlemouth village) taking only 5 minutes.

Schedule

From November 1st to March 31st, the ferry runs from Whitestrand daily. The winter schedule is 8.30 am on weekdays, 9.00 am on weekends, and bank Holidays until 5.00 pm, and the frequency is every half hour until 5.00 pm.

The summer schedule from April until the end of October is 8.30 am on weekdays and 8.30 am on weekends and bank Holidays. The last ferry runs at 6.30 pm and is also running every 30 minutes.

There are also plenty of stunning sandy beaches in East Portlemouth, perfect for sunbathing and swimming. You can also visit the ancient parish church of St. Winwaloe, which dates back to the 13th century. The church is in a picturesque location overlooking the estuary with fantastic views. You can also explore the historic Fort Charles, a small fortification built during the Civil War.
